Testimony

My Christian Journey started off as a kid, going to church every sunday with my family, but after some hard times, and moving we stopped going to church. At first that didnt mean I didnt stop believing, but at one point in my life I was at a real time low. I was severely bullied at school, all my "friends" forced me out of their group and I was having a hard time at home. I self-harmed myself and was really depressed and always had the thought that if God was real he wouldnt be putting me through this. 4 years later as a junior in HS a classmate asked me to go to Younglife which is a youth group that was held every monday night. Reluctantly I went and met some of the most amazing people who would alter my life forever. I began my walk with the Lord once again and I am forever grateful to those people. The pivotal point in that where I vowed myself to the Lord once again, I was at younglife camp in Georgia. That day we had just gone over Jesus' sacrifice and they let us break to our individual selves all over the camp and pray/think/talk to ourselves/whatever. I had gone over to the swings and just out loud I said "God I am ready, please let us start anew and wash everything from the past away. I am ready to walk beside you and lean on you for the rest of my life." At that time, it started raining, and to say that rain didnt feel like it had felt in the past. My heart felt light, and all my burdens felt washed away, and I felt God right there with me. Come to find out that right after going back to the group, i found out my Youth leader was praying for me during that time and was praying for the SAME THING for me. God is absolutely amazing. I still find myself learning everyday what my walk with Jesus looks like and strive to always be the best Christian I can be.
